TRANSLATIONS
Co-translator of a collection of short-stories written by the Australian Waanyi novelist Alexis Wright, published as Le Pacte du serpent arc-en-ciel (Actes Sud, 2002) and translator of Heart of Spain. Robert Capa’s Photographs of the Spanish Civil War (Aperture, 2002), she translates essays and summaries for the bilingual journal Clio. Women, Gender and History. She also transcribed and translated sub-titles in documentaries produced by photographer Martine Barrat. She is currently translating poetry and essays for Le Jeu de Paume, PALM, Consequence Forum, Beltway Quarterly, etc.

She is a member of the CNRS-ENS & U. Cheikh Anta Diop Department of Modern Literature-based
International Research Group on L. S. Senghor, the Western Society for French History, PEN American Center (translation committee), and the Association of the Louis-le-Grand school alumni.
She is working on the 3d issue of PALM, the Jeu de Paume Institute journal.
Having taught in various universities (Stanford, San Jose State., Rutgers, etc.), substituted twice for Professor Glissant at CUNY Graduate Center, and launched the Frencophone studies program at NYU where she received a Golden Dozen Teaching Award, she now teaches as an Africanist at SUNY Old Westbury.
